Whiting Services Detroit was engaged to perform TrackRunnerTM Surveys on two Whiting cranes that are over 70 years old. These cranes are used as intake cranes to operate and adjust the water levels in the various locks that allow large cargo freighters to move between multiple water-ways.
Our WSI service technicians performed the TrackRunnerTM Surveys on 30-ton and 80-ton Whiting cranes with 225-foot rails to provide an assessment of the ball rail conditions pre and post installation of new 60lbs and 104lbs ball rails. The survey results provided the contractor key data to insure the installation of the new ball rail in both bays met CMAA Specification Tolerances. The customer was very pleased with the services provided by the WSI Detroit team and is looking forward to working with us on future crane projects.
