Whiting’s Nuclear Group is solely focused on the unique needs of the Nuclear Industry and as such can perform just about any evaluation as related to the overhead movement of loads – both critical and non-critical.
Whiting is one of a very small group of companies that have the technical knowledge to produce and service overhead cranes for nuclear power generating facilities. Our engineers sit on the Nuclear ASME Cranes for Nuclear Committee, also known as the NOG-1 Committee, since its earliest days. This group maintains the standards for crane design and use at nuclear facilities.
Whiting also has a long history with the Crane Manufacturers Association of America (CMAA) which maintains the standards for commercial overhead cranes.
Given our rich history in cranes, it is no surprise that we offer a full complement of engineering services including:
- Controls Upgrades
- Capacity Upgrades
- Seismic Evaluations
- Obsolescence studies
- Form, Fit and Function Studies
- Runway Evaluations (Linear and Polar)
- Component Issues Studies
- Spare Parts Evaluations
- Fault Tree Evaluations
- Fault Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA)
- Prototype Feasibility Studies
